The sign refers to a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage in Minnesota—a no vote is a vote against the ban.

my mayor is hotter/more photogenic than your mayor (Taken with Instagram)

The ludicrousness of this amendment still amazes me.
Unfortunately, Minnesota has an established history of not allowing same-sex marriage. A 1972 State Supreme Court decision stated that the marriages are not legal, and in 1997 after the passage of the Federal DOMA law, the state legislature passed statues banning same-sex marriage.
To run a constitutional amendment means that the fuckers who want the ban want to make it harder for their children, their grandchildren, and their great-grand children to make a decision for themselves about whether or not same-sex marriage should be legal.
This is a fuck you vote to children. This is being a complete and utter asshat worried about your own damn self and your own damn legacy. It is being an utter, selfish turd.
It means that you are chickenshit, scared that your children will make different choices, that they don’t worry about the same things you worry about, that they are different from you.
Yep, they are.
And I really, really hope you remember that time you were a complete asshat, willing to make sure your scions weren’t allowed to make decisions for themselves when we put you in the fucking nursing home. I hope you remember it when you complain we don’t visit you often enough.
Well, it’s because our son/daughter is gay/lesbian/bi/trans, and we don’t want to bring him around to see his grandparents who told him that he couldn’t marry the person s/he loved.
So…fuck off.
Wow. I’m quite full of generational anger today.
